The Responsibilities: Volunteers will be assigned on a random basis to monitor meeting rooms, assist with registration, and assist faculty and staff. You will be scheduled to work approximately four to five hours per day, during mornings, afternoons or possibly evenings. Please see the schedule to see a schedule of events, as you may be scheduled to volunteer during those times.
You should be able to attend the Full Conference and have open availability throughout the conference. There will be a volunteer meeting on Monday, December 11th at the Anaheim Convention Center (rooms and times to be decided) that is MANDATORY if you are volunteering at the pre-conference on Tuesday the 12th. For those not volunteering at the pre-conference, there will be a MANDATORY volunteer meeting on the evening of Tuesday the 12th. (Full conference volunteers do not need to attend both meetings). You will be notified in advance of the Conference if there are any time changes for this meeting. If you cannot commit to the requirements/responsibilities, you will not be able to volunteer but may register as an attendee.
You will not be able to choose the workshops for which you are assigned; however, when not assigned, you may attend any sessions you prefer during FULL CONFERENCE ONLY. Remember: You will also be able to claim credit toward a Certificate of Attendance stating your hours for all sessions worked and attended! Closer to the conference, you may be contacted about specific availability for Pre- and Post-Conference days.
The Requirements: Volunteers should be able to understand and communicate in English and have legible handwriting. Volunteers should also be able to communicate rules and regulations, do not sign up if you are not comfortable confronting attendees. All other expenses related to the Conference including hotel accommodation, transportation, parking, meals, etc. are the responsibility of the volunteer. The Cost: The cost of attending Evolution 2017 as a volunteer is $50.00. You will be refunded $100 of the original deposit ($150) after you have successfully completed your volunteer duties as assigned.
All cancellations must be in writing and there will be a $50 administrative charge for each cancellation. Cancellations received that are NOT postmarked by Friday, October 27th, 2017 will NOT be eligible for a refund.
